Ditch IE6 and use Mozilla as a web browser (Its free) and comes with the best pop up blocker on the market.

Free spy ware killers use - Spybot search & destroy, Ad-aware and 'HijackThis'

Not tried MSN but Google toolbar seems to block most.
To track down and rid of spyware, try visiting pcplus.co.uk and check out the freebies in the software (or buy copy of magazine).
Best of luck

For me the google toolbar and Ad-aware has got rid of all my pop ups and can scan for them to finding critical items.

spybot never worked for me

i'm using yahoo toolbar pop up blocker seems to be better than googles equivalent all the ones mentioned are good to remove spyware but you could also try "spyware doctor" and "zonealarm firewall" both free "spyware doctor " has a useful cookie blocker

Download AdAware which will search and remove any pop-up ad software which has been installed onto your machine:
http://www.lavasoft.de/

I'd also recommend using Spybot Search and Destory as it has a load of extra features to fix problems that AdAware doesn't fix:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html
