Advice re: Seat lock
I need a new seat lock for my bike, and P&H tell me they cannot supply just the one lock, instead wanting to sell me a complete lock set at 165 +vat.

I still have the original keys, ignition lock, etc, and would ideally like to not have to swap the whole lot.
Anyone know of where I can get just the one lock, and whether I can get a lock recoded to match the existing key ?

Cheers,
John.

I wouldnt bother. You can open the seat without the key by just pulling on the cable underneath.

Yeah, mine fell out too!

As Paul says, you can open it by just pulling the cable, so you're better off leaving the lock off and tucking the cable out of the way.

If you really do want one, try and find one second hand as they come apart easily and any decent locksmith should be able to cut new pins (actually they're plates) or modify the existing ones to accept your key.

cheers people.

i know you can pull on the cable to open the seat.
Its not so much for the security but to replace a missing part.
I hate bits like this missing.

Also, while we all know you can pull on the cable there is no point in inviting trouble, is there

Weeksy, if you manage to find it I'd be much obliged (expressed with beer tokens )

Btw, I need the black plastic surround as well if you have it. The only bit I still have is the actuating lever on the end of the cable !

Cheers,
John.

I'll buy a new one of natt for now, but a good s/h one fit for butchering to make it match my existing key would be good, so if you manage to find it weeksy, give me a u2u please.

Cheers,
John.
