This reminds me of an artists CBR600 I saw in southern France a couple of years back (nr. Menton on the riviera) - all the bodywork had been recoated on top of the original finish with an oragne tartan coloured paper and then clear resin stippled on top.

It looked hideous !!

But I guess he was proud of it at the time - strange these French aren't they
