Servicing costs
Long out of warranty (obviously) 916SP3.

How much for a service to include belt change, checking of rockers & shims etc?

I'd reckon on £600 - £700 .... best bet would be to give the Nellymeister a quick call www.cornerspeed.co.uk as he works on a fixed cost 6k & 12k system.

Around £550 - £600 at a dealer, as they will charge you extra to pull the cams.

Going to an independant will work out cheaper, probably around the £400 mark, and using the DSC discount might help reduce it too.

What are you buying now David

As for costs...pretty much the same as any other 916 type...for a full services (belts/valves/rocker check/fluids etc etc) your looking at £700 + parts from an authorised dealer such as OYB or anything from 25-40 % cheaper from an independent such as AJR or Nelly.

As a side question...are you sure it is an SP3...it will be a 955cc bike if thats the case...I ask as there are not many GENUINE ones around...but there are lots of 916's with extras added.

Be warned...

I don't know that going to an "independent" (as I do) isnecessarily cheaper than a main dealer. Their labour rates may be lower, but they they tend to compensate by just doing more stuff that a main dealer wouldn't do. And there's always *something* extra needed.

My last "big" service, which included checking rockers (and replacing one), shimming, and stripping and greasing head-stock bearings, stripping off and cleaning radiator and clutch, came to a little short of 800 quid.
