Mood: the rain in spain falls mainly on me!
quotes to use after donington..................
got these off a website may be handy to have at the ready:

there are a few people who it's better to avoid when it starts raining. I don't want to mention any names, but I definitely keep an eye out for a couple of riders on a wet track and always give them that little bit of extra room when I do put in a pass!

I know I prefer to see the sun rather than rain when I look out of the pit box just before a race.

you're always aware of how easy it is to go a little bit hard on the throttle, or a little bit heavy on the brakes and then have the bike slide out from underneath you with virtually no warning

It's very difficult to see where you're going, and almost impossible to pick out your braking marker.

List of excuses (and the real reason in brackets)...

He knicked my line which made me sit it up and they all came past me (I missed the apex)
He cut me up ( I braked way too early)
He sat it up half way round and pushed me off (I was totally off line)
My bike lacks the BHP everyone else has so I was slow down the back straight (I'm stupid and turned left at the Foggy Esses cause the last time I was here we did the full GP circuit)
I got blocked at the start at Regate and despite being faster than everyone else, I just couldn't get through the field. (I'm a complete wimp and a liar)
The bike just bogged down at the start, (I was in second gear)
I did an enormous wheely off the start line and everyone went past me, (I can only ride with the throttle full on or full off)
My bike just doesn't have the power of the boys at the front, (I'm crep)
My tyres were shot (I'm cheap)
I got a bad grid position due to the CB5's/SOT (delete as appropriate)
He's bound to win cause he's so light (I've been porking out all summer and I'm now officially obese)
If I had his money I'd be at the front as well (my bike is a shed)
My bike is fully within the regulations (you're a bunch of cheating bar stewards)
I was running-in a new tyre (I can't plan past lunch time)
I lost the front on aircraft fuel (I've no idea why I crashed)
The bike had an electrical fault (it's a Ducati)
They're on 'factory' bikes (wish I was as good a rider as they are)
Yeh but he's raced before (yeh but no but yeh but no but)
