Broken or dislocation possibly?
As FE says, a little trot to A & E (taking the sunday papers etc) before the local football clubs go trooping in after morning matches.
If broken, will take a few days (about a week to 10 days) for the swelling to go down, just practice heel walking, but be carefull not to 'throw' your ankle at the same time by hurrying, as this can damage the muscles & tendons surrounding. The pain can be excruciating for the same time too, and they wont be completely healed for up to 6 weeks.
C, with rather too much experience of broken toes, having been in the horseworld for a long time, but only dislocated one once - and that was enough!!!
