computer boffs I need help
I'm trying to install my new anti virus software but when I go to do it it tells me that "a program has been detected that is incompatible blah blah"
this program is called "eTrust EZ Antivirus"
and I should be able to remove it through the add or remove programs function.
yea no problem.
but can I find it ? can I ?@$%
i cant find it any where even done a file search.
any ideas ?

Keefer,

Its poduced and distributed by Computer Associates also known simply as CA, have a look in Program files for a CA or Computer Associates folder as its likely in there .....

I'm using a free AV software package from AVG, it works fine and was recommended to me by a PC bod.

Looks like you've already got AV software running and the new one is in conflict with it. Probably have to turn off the existing one to accept the new one.

done all that
its just a upgrade but it keeps throwing up the name I mentioned above ?

You might have removed the CA software in the past but some trace of it still remains - u might need a dedicate uninstaller prog or registery cleaner.

As long as your new AV s/w runs ok - I dont think youd need to worry too much.

Just do a FULL backup and make sure system restore is turned on
