Exhaust pinging/creaking
On my S4r after stopping the exhaust pings/creaks alot when cooling. Never had this on any bikes before.

Is it due to being to rigid? I read some where its a sign of cheap steel being used?

I have an Akrapovic slip on and Dp cat removal pipes

My 999 does it mate, Its just hot metal cooling down. I like to think its my bike talking to me and thanking me for a nice ride. (I need to get out more)

Steel contracts as it cools down, hence the pinging. I love that sound as well.

Stainless 'creaks' a lot more than mild steel so its perfectly normal. My car started doing the same thing when I fitted a stainless system.

Its a good thing honest. Mean your riding it more than cleaning it. (Love that sound too)

Quite normal, particularly if you've been feeding it plenty of gas :-)))
