Anyone else had to pay full membership to do SoT races?
I had to cough up the £5 DSC discount at Oulton in order to do the Sound of Thunder race.

Apparantly the DSC discounted membership only covers you for DD, and if you want to do extra classes - you need to have full New Era membership!

Strange how they only brought this up after doing SoT for 18 months!!!!!!!

It was only a fiver, so I'm not really moaning. Just thought it was a bit daft - and nobody else seems to have been asked to pay it!!!!

I'll be doing SV650 races from now on though - not SoT. Hopefully I can get some more plasticware for my £.

I'm 50/50 on whether it's worth me doing extra races, I'm getting practice at Donnington so I don't think I will for there, but at Snet I might

Nope - no additional charge for me. Was the additional charge based on a height-to-weight ratio imbalance?

I understood that to be the case at the start of last year - I joined New Era as a full member instead of using the DSC specific form, which included the discount, because I wanted to do the SoT races at Cadwell to learn the Woodlands track.

It's just an admin mistake on New Era's part.

Glad I got in with a Second and First place trophy at Oulton then. Not that they had any but evidently we can collect them at Donnie.

Even better the top Three in DD could be band from sv and we could keep winning them

Yeah, I had to "upgrade" to full membership to do other races, but to be fair to New Era the discounted rate was always only for DD, otherwise it would be a route to cheap NE membership.
