Hi Paul,

Steve is the fella to see, he owns OBERON and his sister is his secretary and she deals with orders etc. They're both really nice and genuine people.
I feel it is better to meet someone face to face, than trying to explain over the phone.
Steve is fairly local and does have some visitors. Take your pegs with you, better still take all the items that you want re-anodised so he can have a look.

Oberon is where 99% of the gold anodised parts on my MTS was purchased and his accessories are excellent quality.
I asked him if he could gold anodise some parts for me, he said he'd have a go but stressed that he couldn't gaurantee the finish as every alloy is of varying grades and quality.

I've got a caswell nickel plating kit - and have had a good chat with the bloke who runs caswell.
Its all put together really well, but you do have to set everything up carefully, and pay attention to the instructions.
If you've got a load to do, its def worth it for the extra special touch you can give something, but if its only an odd thing now and then ... dont bother.
Remember with all special finishes - if its not super shiny to start with - they will look worse.

I have not used these people in Birmingham, but did speak to them about something I was thinking of doing in the past, they seemed very reasonable and helpfull.

Any kind of finish, whether it is anodised or plated, highlights all the flaws and imperfection of the base surface they are applied to.
