Swingarm torque settings
Can anyone tell me the torque settings for my alloy swingarm pivot pin pinch bolts, and shock bolts. The bike is a 93 Superlight, and the swingarm is original. I have three manuals both the Haynes, and LT Snyder maintenance guide. None of these give a figure. I know these are known to crack if overtightened. Cheers, Rich

According to my Haynes Rear shock absorber upper mounting bolt 40 to 45 Nm
Lower mounting bolt 35 to 38 Nm
Swingarm pivot pin clamp bolts 34 to 37 Nm

Yes 34 to 37 NM is the figure they give in the earlier Haynes. They don't say if that's for the alloy or steel swingarm. I have to take that as the figure for the steel, because the steel being more popular. In the later Haynes there's no torque figure at all, cheers

I've just put new pinch bolts in my 800ss road bike's alloy arm. I used about 30Nm. It seems fine to me.
