DD weekly subscription, Build your own DD bike only £1 for issue one
Subscribe to DD , Build your own DD bike only £1 for issue one.

Just sat here watching that advert where you buy the magazine for a £1 for the first week that come with the first bit of a ship model, then over lord knows how many weeks at £6 you slowly build the ship. Comes out at somthing like £500 for a home built model, they do another one simular for the James bond car. I was thinking what mugs do that sort of thing.
Anyway just realized its DD, starts off at £1 a week ends up £? a week and you build it yourself and you end up paying a fortune lol Mugs

I was recommended to have a look at the No Budget Cup ... made interesting reading until I saw the costs...

[from http://www.nobudgetcup.co.uk/reglement.aspx]

The annual membership fee for the UK is £60.00

Fair enough, I thought, but DD is still less...

The BT-003RS is the controlled tyre, £210 is the price for a pair

Yeah, that's about right for those tyres, can't complain...

Taking part in a UK No Budget CUP race in 2011 will cost £650 per round excluding the membership fees

HOW MUCH!!!!

Ok, not quite fair because it's 7 hours on track and you can (need!) multiple riders, but it's still a lot? £650 / (7h*60m) = £1.55pm ...

When we were doing the budgets for DD2011 and comparing all the offers we had (and with what we previously had with New Era), Kev worked it out that with Hottrax the cost was £2.13pm over the season, or £1.92pm if you took into account a 10% block-booking discount.

So in reality, DD is just as expensive, but it's spread over more rounds rather than blowing the whole lot in one lump!

I saw the one for the Aston Martin model the other week: 85 weeks at £6.99 an issue works out at £600.... Half of what I paid for my DD bike!
