Ducati apparel
Having attended this weekends Moto GP I was surprised at the number of people who wear Ducati apparel.
My guess is that the Rossi branded stuff is not necessarily worn by Ducati owners but just Rossi fans in general who have followed him from Yamaha.
But the rest who wear Ducati stuff, do you think that they are Ducati owners? If they are then there are a lot of Ducati bikes out there.

Does it matter?

Ducati is an "inspirational" brand, so owning the clothing without owning the bike is all part of the company marketing. Federico Minoli (the previous Ducati CEO) called this the "Harley-Davidson" effect - HD make more money through selling t-shirts than they do motorcycles

And HD have seen their bikes sales go through the floor in the last 12 months!
