Exhaust Kite-mark stamp
Hi Lads and Lasses
I took one of my bikes (RC30) for an MOT today and was told by the tester that he would pass my bike if the exhaust cans (bit fruity!!) were stamped with a BS kitemark. He alluded to the fact that apparenely there is a company somewhere that makes a punch which will kitemark your cans for about £12 or so and advertises in MCN!! However I can't fid the Ad!!
Has anyone any experience of these punch/stamps that can pass on info?
The 888 SP5 had an illegal exhaust from day 1 - even says so in the handbook!!
Thanks in anticipation
Justin

i dont get it, why would he not pass them as they are. he can look the other way if they have a fake stamp but cant if they dont.
cant you just put the original back on ?
I had the same thing with some termis wanted me to get them stamped. Yea Right.

Yeah alright Nathan - I'm just playing it down a little OK - it almost worked at the MOT station!!!
Besides, I hear you keep swapping your 999 can to try to find a quiet one!!
Ooooh the sarcasm!!

Keefer
I'm afraid that's the deal
As for original cans - H'mm that might have been a good question to ask the guy I bought it of!!!
Anyway I might see if I can graft a flugel horn on to the downpipes to quieten it down a little.

id go somewhere else, a bike dosent even need to run for an mot. so they dont need to hear it. just kill it before rolling onto the forecourt.
try going to a Honda dealer where they will just enjoy seing and talking about the bike rather than testing it

I have no probs with MoT's with my 45 Termis fitted - as far as the MoT guy is concerned his view is they are OEM on Dukes. Am I going to say otherwise

Think about it there are a lot of new dukes with legal eu stamped standard Termis on.

That's a line you can't use if you have Microns or any of the other non-termi (I think i've just invented a new word) aftermarkets fitted
