Tyres in 2006

Im still on my first set after ever DD race plus 3 track days...will they last the year out....???....got me thinking about the rest of you lot........Awesome tyre and would not want anything else on the DD bike.!
Do new tyres give you confidence and extra grip or is is psychological.?

Yeah, the speed you ride I would think they'd do you for next season too

Great tyres indeed.

I'm on set #2, but they'll last for the rest of the season.

New tyres definately give you more grip (after 1 heat cycle).

I find the (old) tyres go a bit squirrely/greasy when they're on their way out, you can still ride fast on them, but I wouldn't push the tyre once it gave me that feedback - time for new ones!

I had a greasy front at Assen, so we changed it and it was superb - Kyle and Ian had mahoosive front slides on their older tyres!

I think the fact that most racers take the time to setup their suspension properly helps to keep the tyre in better condition, so it lasts longer.

I'm still on my first front for this season, and only changed the rear at Assen as I got a puncture! Might change after Donington or maybe Snetterton, but it will just depend on the wear by then.

Still on 1st set...

4 trackdays, 3 cold and wet.

Didn't race at CC and did very few laps at Assen.

Budget racing, stick with them....

I basically rode them until they started to feel slippy. Which was basically until I started having a few slides on them - then I changed them.

They last for ages though, I did a lot on mine before they started to slide. I think I went through 3 sets in total last year.

Started this season on the set I had fitted at the Donington round last year, I then had new ones fitted at Castle Combe. So I'm basically using one set a season, although at thje very wet Brands I wish I had been on a freshly scrubbed set as the tread pattern was well rounded at the edges by then and was struggling to cut through the water and grip, hence me changing them at the next round
