I think ive just got bit on e,bay... I won a clutch cover, open type and was told that it was an aftermarket item so belived that it would fit. on arrival it lookes like a standard one that has been cut out. a good job though, but when i fit it the spring tops touch can i fit one of the rubber spacer/gaskets? otherwise its useless ouch!
There was a thread about this awhile back - consensus seems to be that on a cost / strength basis - a standard drilled item is better than a superlightened (almost nothing left) string thong CF item.
I think Madmav or someone was offering to drill std items on a very limited basis.
yep - If unhappy leave negative feedback - contact the seller or Ebay if really unhappy.
The standard cover needs the gasket, with it's brass spacers, to clear the spring caps. Even then it's border line. Either use the OE rubber gasket or pack it out with spacers/washers.
I ran spacers in mine when I had the standard cover on.
But, your real issue is that you didn't receive what you were actually bidding on. Don't let this stuff happen mate, if he/she said it was aftermarket and you got a standard cover then you really should get in contact with them and ask them to either supply an aftermarket one that you are happy with or refund your money!
Sorry, I don't mean to come across all dictatorial ... just ****es me off that this stuff happens and people get away with it ..
