oily exhaust edge I've been keeping my ducati 748 in my garage all winter and have kept pulling it out to crank it up regularly. The last time I did this I noticed in the outer edge of exhaust coming from the frontal cylinder some oily stuff and you could also see the pipe is a little darker than the other one. Even after I cutoff the engine I could still see some fumes coming out of just that one exhaust. Oil still burning by the heat of the exhaust I believe. The other exhaust was dry as the desert so I'm a bit concerned but the bike has very low mileage it's a 2002 model and I haven't noticed any burned oil fumes coming out while the engine is running. I have not taken out the plugs so I can't tell if there is any oil in the chamber. I explained this to the mechanic over the phone and he thinks it may be the gasket. If this is it will "only" cost me like $300 he said but I'm afraid it may be something more serious. Any advice is greatly appreciated. |
