A little less decorum please...

I'm not one of those people who want this board to descend into a mass of vitriolic and foul language (actually, I object more to people who use the board in a personal, abusive way rather than the language they use - thankfully there's not too much of this sort of silliness).

But this board censorship thing is just getting silly. Language evolves and changes, and words that your granny might consider offensive are no longer considered so.

Renault can get away with saying "I see you baby, shaking that ass" on prime time TV, this word has become innocuous in today's society but, as you can see (since I typed in the word not the asterisks), the auto censor on this board won't allow such vulgarity.

Come on. I know some people let their kids browse this board but isn't it time we were a little more adult?

What's really the final straw for me is that we can't even say c.r.a.p (taken from the colloquial use that arose from the fact that it was Thomas Crapper who made some of the first WC's). The censorship turns it into whoopsie! Whoopsie, I ask you, how juvenille do we want to be? It's pathetic.

While we're at it I find that automatically turning Honda and Yamaha into what you see on the board is pretty peurile too. I typed in the real names, you can see that the board has turned them into feeble joke names.

By all means, let's keep really vulgar language off the site, but let's make sure that we're not too prim and prissy for our own good. Otherwise people could be forgiven for thinking that they've stumbled onto a site run by the pilgrim fathers.

Naughty stuff, ok, don't have a problem with that but some of the modifications need a revisit.
