More Power

Hiya

Ive got a 749 dark but Im looking to get some more power out of it, im sticking a 41T sprocket on the back, but has anyone got safe reliable engine mod suggestions for a big more poke?

I know about the Termis, but thats about it really...

Oh.... how much money have you got?

Do you want more power or more rideability? You're changing the sprocket which won't give you any more power but it'll feel quicker, you could add lighter wheels, again no power gain but will make the bike quicker (slightly), or go for lightened flywheel, lightweight clutch, again helping the engine spin up faster, but no power gain.

Guess a simple bolt on for power would be exhaust and PCIII, then after that you're into engine work I guess, crank balancing, high compression pistons, gas flowed heads, cams, valves...blah blah blah

hahhaha, true i suppose, just wondered if there was a simpler way. Having just bought it i aint gonna get much on resale at the mo, so gonna wait a year until I get an upgrade, probably will go for a 999 then so pretty pointless spending the extra dosh on a termi. Thanks for the advice though!

It's going to be the cheapest option, especially given the resale values of the 749/999 series. That's not to say you'll get a better bike though - you may find the 749 more balanced.

If you bought termis, you could always have it on the 749 til you sell then keep it for the 999!!
