Engine stands

Took the rear shock off last week and stood the bike on axel stands under the engine pivots in front of the foot rests. Worked okay but not especially stable.
Looking at the rear of the testastretta engine casing though it looks like there are 2 cut outs positioned on the bottom of the engine casing at the back. Also heard that putting weight on the engine casing was pretty stupid as well (beer crates, bricks, etc.
Is there a Ducati stand that can be used to keep the back end off the ground.?
Otherwise, any suggestions, price and where to get'em.
