Looking to Buy 1999 Duc 996 BP...what to check???

I am looking at a 1999 Duc 996 Biposto at a dealer in the US. It has 9,062 miles, yellow with white number plates, 100% stock, and looks very well maintained. Can someone help with with what to look for to make sure I am getting a solid bike? This will be my first Italian bike....I'm used to Jap bikes. It has a few small cosmetic blemishes, but for 6 years old, nothing major. Getting it for a great deal....as long as it's solid mechanically...it has been checked out by the service department at the Suzuki dealer that it's for sale at, but I doubt they know what to look for with a Duc. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
