hernia hurumph

been stuck indoors for a week after having a hernia operation and am now officially climbing the walls!

bought a digibox thing so i could watch men & motors. what a joke!! they repeat the same programes day after day up to 3 times a day! and dont get me started on the f**kin ringtone adverts.....

dug out all the old bike vids & dvds reread all the mags. cant even go in the garage for a bit of a fettle.

was told to stay off work for 8 weeks!! can now drive so it aint so bad.

does anyone know when you can ride again after a hernia op? (had conventional surgery as opposed to keyhole)

thanks for listening, feel better now!

You have my sympathy...I had some "farmers" removed a month ago, and I am still searching the DP catalogue for a monoposto rubber ring (preferably "R" spec).

I guess its the same with all these ops, best to take it carefully just in case "too much too soon" sets you back.

Anyway, just realised I have absolutely no useful information for you at all!

Take it easy

No someone that had the old Gilo's injected via BUPA reckons he was ok within a couple of days.

i had the keyhole surgery m8
i was still of work for 11weeks
was kept in hospital for two days

with the bruising down there it looked more like i had mickey mouse ears that balls
they stopped doing the keyhole shortly after that and reverted back to the normal surgery option.

get well soon

I would heed medical advice & wait 8 weeks before doing anything strenuous like riding a bike mate - you don't want to go through the whole thing again..?

Hello mate, i know exactly how you feel i had a hernia op in December, like people have said take the advice and take the time out of work, i took 6 weeks off and still took it easy for the first 3 weeks backat work!! it does drive you up the wall being stuck at home but i got back on the bike within 5 weeks and didnt feel any pain or anything apart from a stabbing pain when i sneezed and nearly lost the bike but apart from that no problems!!

Just enjoy the time away from work mate. and dont chuck anything at the TV when that ringtone advert comes on!!

Cheers
Rob

Mood: Finally gotten over the 748R getting stolen thing. Actually, no i haven't !
I had the hernia op using the plastic mesh . Back at work within a week and riding the bike. Only problem was the fear of MRSA in the hospital.
