after hunting high and low for my 'lost' lap timer; which i eventually found in a box of bike stuff in the garage!; i realised how much bike crap i have; literally; all over the place.

off the top of my head:

i have mags,books,circuit guides, keys in the bedroom,
books, dvd's paper work, charts, pictures in study,
dvd's in the t.v room
leathers lid gloves etc in hall or downstair cupboard,
sliders, rucksack, waterproofs in upstairs cupboard ,
nosecone in lounge,
brackets for nosecone in study,
trackday/race paper work in kitchen,
keys in hall (key rack or floor)
and an alladins cave of bikes, panels, spare parts, trailers etc etc in the garage.

is this normal or does anyone actually have some sort of order to their biking stuff?

you want to try Skidlids place - by all accounts its a veritable bike parts store!

only no-go-areas in our house is bathroom & kitchen.
Pref not the bedroom... but occasionally mags wander in (all on their own )
Otherwise it seems to be a free-for-all between Alan & myself for bike gear storage. When you add in panniers/rucksacks etc I think we should give up a room purely for all bike related stuff

At least there is just one of you in your house with bike(s) Dickie - how much worse would it be if your wife was into it too............................

Its a bit of a variation on the "House Full of Bikes" theme but, during his pre-Ducati phase, Dave built a Peter-Fonda like Harley Chopper indoors and, as occasional Spanner holder , I seem to remember the indoor construction reaching a stage that meant there was no way the bike was going to get through the door (it was very long!) This realisation was followed by a short period of dis-assembly which started immediately the tool kit was retreived from the bottom of the garden

Sadly very true, the backroom of the house has always been used (well since I paid of the Ex for her half of the house) for building the lastest project, be it a Harris, 7/11 or lately the 998 Hybrid. Once the garage had been broken into a few times resulting in the theft of my Bimota and my GSXR1100 I then had to build a workshop in the rear garden which didn't take long to fill.
The room that was originally used as a study and for doing some homers (electronics) was also used to store speciallist tools not only oscilloscopes and pulse generators but also Digital micrometers, verniers, vac gauges etc.
Then I got into Ducatis and then things got worse. I have a 955 engine in the hall way, and the spare bedroom has Carbon Dymag arm, Mag wheels, slipper clutches, Alloy tank, Panels, Carbon and other bling bits stored in it.
Problem is I currently own 12 bikes of which 3 are stripped right down to the frame.

Bigger, house garage and workshop required, or maybe sell the odd bike

dont worry, she more than makes up for it with her clothes/shoes/bags collections!

I have narrowed my spares and bits down to loft, spare room and garage.
As long as it's tidy i get away with it.

A quick assesment of whats in my house...

Living room - various magazines, haslam seat unit, several minichamp models

kitchen - various spares, from clip-ons, exhaust system (999), brake/clutch master cylinders, helmets, leathers, gloves, boots, tyre warmers, various cleaning aids, WD40, etc etc

Under the stairs - several sets of 208GP's and various other spares

Bedroom - 999R bodywork (nosecone, seat unit, side panels, tank) Bostrom seat unit, magazines, twist of the wrist books

Office - Various passes from events, memorabilia, bike models, Ducati/Oakley Goggles, DSC prontos

Might of missed a few, other rooms etc seem unaffected
