Hands in pockets.....wallets out

Stage 2 of money collection

Geoff Spencer’s standard barrels:

We had a bucket out at castle Coombe and the response was “disappointing”. Appreciate that after a race and with leathers on people may not have been financially prepared so we need to try again at Snetterton. I think this work equated to something in the region of £900.

Just as a reminder it was Geoff who graciously volunteered to put his barrels back to standard after the moaning and bitching on this message board. We did indicate to him that club spirit being what it we were sure we get donations, please don’t prove us wrong. Remember he did not have to do this; - he gave us the opportunity to revise the loop hole before others joined this expensive party. There was one hell of a lot of work on this with Chris Bushell giving up his own time driving, collecting and delivering.

This is not just aimed at the Desmo Diue boys (and gal) this is for every one to show that club spirit, - Geoff is a club member, he has been for some time, - before this series was in existence and I would say from my conversations with him he is very much a “club player”. Just because he does not use this message board does not mean he is not in the party; - please remember that at times this message board appears as the clique group. He is helping trackdayers at Cadwell and I think maybe elsewhere, - I have a feeling he has even offered to help people with Snetterton. Come on guys. -

Please find Chris Bushell or Chris Butchers father (whose name escapes me as I type this) and donate.

I need to correct something in my above post, I do not want to edit it as the post itself has been somewhat controversial and to "edit" it would not make it clear what part had been edited.

I used a loose term to describe the bore of the 620 as a “loophole” in our rules. The reality as explained to me by the racing committee is that the option to overbore a 620 was left in the original rules as it was considered that a 583 with a bore kit, short carbs and inlets might have the legs on a standard 620. We became aware that one dealer was developing a big bore-kit for the 620 so that dealer was asked by way of a gentleman’s agreement to not pursue it until we knew how the bored 583 would run with the 620.

I apologies to Neil of Sigma if I misrepresented you, it was unintentional.
