Car Insurance - Getting my son covered

My daughter gets married in 3 weeks time. I want my son to be able to drive my car over that weekend to ferry bridesmaids over to the wedding venue.

Trouble is, he passed his driving test in France while he was living there for a year during his university course and insurance call centre numpties don't seem able to cope with someone who doesn't have a UK license, even though his French license is valid throughout the EU.

Second problem is that he's only 22 and my insurance company are saying that for my sort of car they won't put anyone under 30 on my insurance (even for a couple of days). Obviously I don't want to change my insurance company just in the vain hope that somebody might insure my son.

The galling thing is that he's actually a lot slower and more careful as a driver than I am and he's only going to have to drive a total of about 20 miles over one weekend. Surely somebody somewhere will underwrite a risk like that?

Does anybody know any insurance specialists that would insure a 22 year old for a maximum of 2 days in a Volvo C70 T5 convertible? I know it'll cost me, but everything about weddings does, it's only more expense.
