Torque applied, new clutch basket

I have a new 48 tooth clutch basket to fit and a torque wrench that only goes to 40 lbs.
I understand there is a reliable way of measuring the multiplied force if i use a length of scaffold pole to increase my leverage.
Any ideas ?

The torque wrench will still click at 40lbs regardless of how long the bar is.

Just buy a torque wrench that goes that high. It's allways usefull at a later date.

I bought a "large" torque wrench from Argos a few years ago, on the grounds that if I was looking at the high end torque then it wouldn;t amtter TOO much if it was inaccurate. It wasn't too much as I recall, and very useful for getting the wheel nuts done uptight enough!. I paid more for a 0-60 vernier scale one from Halfords though.

I picked mine up at an autojumble for £8. As said above , better than a bodged effort. Used it loads since.
