Rattler\'s quickish Cadwell report

Rattler's quick Cadwell report......

A quick(ish) report of DD races 10 and 11 at Cadwell from a Rattler perspective.......

Qualifying
- mood - cautious
- practice - none
- plan - learn fast
- weather - lots of it
- health - feeling old
- scrutineering - flew through
- fatigued - yep, as usual
- approach - 3 gentle laps then nail it!!
- bike #21 - warmed and ready
- visor - clear
- vison - unclear
- action - try to get a top ten grid spot!!

Race 1
- mood - pensive
- health - too late to care!!!
- plan - go flat out
- approach - be brave!!!
- start - fair - red-flagged - argh!!!
- conditions - dry - cool
- approach - battling
- riding - charging!!!!
- finish - 7th!! best I could do !
- battled - with Phil - fablus!
- performance - great race, poor technique
- action, get food and painkillers!!

Race 2
- mood - expectant
- approach - get decent start - focus
- plan - better race one result
- start - poor (again!!!!) - sh|t !!!
- pace - tried really hard, too far back
- tyres - shot, sliding out of most corners!! (schoolboy error)
- battling - with Chris - great tussle!
- finish - 9th, not ideal, but OK
- overall - dissapointed

Summary
Not knowing Cadwell very well and missing any practice there meant my expectations were low - great race in race 1 with Phil, but "charging" into bends led to poor corner and exit speed. Race 2 battle with Chris was great too, he block passed me into the hairpin late on and I got him back on the straight - he then went grass tracking for a while!!! Great tussle though.

A 7th and 9th were fair and should have been enough to get me to 6th in the final standings, but Ian's 2 great 2nds meant he leap-frogged me into 6th - great work Ian.

A final placing of 7th met my pre-season objectives of a top ten finish, and pleased me as my early season form was very poor.

Highlights of Cadwell for me, were;

Battles with Phil and Chris.
Dom getting a decent result - at last!!
Phil getting third in the champs (close to second too)- fablus!
Nick showing some great style too - nice one b'stard

So for next year?
There's quite a difference between a sorted 620 and a standard 620 - where's Nelly's number

Gotta get faster, quicker, fitter, stronger!!!

Bring it on!!!!!
Tim

I've noticed that your riding is better than the results show - a bit of work over winter on the bike and you'll have the pace to run with the front runners.

When is a 620 not a 620 ???

All 620s are equal, its just that some are more equal than others !!!!

Thanks Steve, there will be a bit of work taking place of Winter .....

Cheers Ratter,

A great battle with you, nice knowing you enjoyed it.

Might just run 620 so I can make a pass stick on you next season!
