Race prep from MotoRapido

Hi guys,
Along with many others I've just had the latest MotoRapido newsletter - they are offering a discount rate on engine work/race prep etc.

And considering that I am a pretty cr*p rider, Steve's tuning of a totally legal (yes, no aftermarket flywheel here folks) 675 DD bigbore motor ended up a) in one piece and b) 2nd only to the flying Fil2.

Anyway, to the point, they are offering a labour rate of £29.50, compared to their normal £40 (Ducati recommended is £45) for all work booked before the beginning of next years race season (1st February 2006).

This offer is also open to DSC, DOC and UKMonster club members, and my 583cc motor for next year is already with Steve....

See here for details http://www.motorapido.co.uk/news.php
Or contact Wilf or Steve directly on 01962 877998 or 877996

Cheers, Paul

Degreeing in of the cams Tonio, I think the rules still allow that and depending on how far out your are it could make a big difference, maybe I should think about getting mine done.
Then again maybe not as it will cost me money, oil, filter and a belt change will have to do for now as I already have them and I can do it myself.

What kind of difference can it be? Can we estimate it in bhp or that's not so "feel-able"?

Tonio I am in the process of doing mine at present, Its quite an easy job, but from what i can gather the results depend on how you ride the bike, advanced = higher peak power later in the rpm range and a more std setting will give a lower down torque increase. If you do a search for moto one performance you can do a little research yourself. I recon there is a couple of bhp to be had by advancing by a few degrees whilst still maintaining a healthy torque curve.
Problem i have is no bench mark, With the BB kit on I had 49bhp I expect to beat this with the 583 kit but obviously expect a lot less torque. i suppose the thing to remember is that BHP sells bikes, Torque wins races.

What for? To be returned to 583cc and have the cam timing set to factory spec. I can do the former, but haven't got all the gear for the latter, or Steve's experience in doing it...
