I\'m Rich! Drinks on me!

Just got this email, how lucky am I? Going to go out now and have a massive spending spree on my credit card iwhilst I wait for my money to come through. Brilliant!

Tamara Briggs
Ministry of Petroleum Resources
Abuja, Nigeria.
Email: tamarabriggs@moomia.com

Dear sir,

Greetings.

It is indeed my pleasure to write you this letter, which i believe will be a surprise to you, as we have never met before. I am deeply sorry if I have in any manner disturbed your privacy. Please forgive this unusual manner of contacting you, but this letter is of exceptional and private nature. There is absolutely going to be a great deal of doubt and distrust in your heart in respect of this email, coupled with the fact that so many people have taken possession of the internet to facilitate their nefarious deeds, thereby making it extremely difficult for legitimate and genuine business class persons to get attention and recognition. There is no way for me to know whether I will be properly understood.

My name is Tamara Briggs, and I head a four man committee on debt reconciliation at the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Abuja, Nigeria. in recent past, we have carefully arranged a contract with a foreign firn, in which the contract was over-invoiced deliberately to favour us. Now we want to get the funds out of the Apex bank into your provided bank account within one week from now, and a percentage twenty (20%) will be given to you for your efforts. The amount we are about transferring is totalled at twenty-four million, three hundred thousand US dollars (24,300,000.00).

You will certainly ask yourself how consequential is this letter. Is it not surprising to receive such a letter for a transaction of this magnitude? this is why today, I am making you a non-binding, unrestricted offer, to bring close into mutual understanding and cooperation now and in the near future .

Trust is definitely the most noble trait in the world today, and I urge you to trust my sincerity and the word of a simple person of faith, who is willing to accomplish the task of doing business with you. It is up to you to decide whether this letter deserve you trust and confidentiality.

And if indeed it does, please send me the following:
(1) Acceptance of this offer.
(2) Your company name/address,telephone/fax numbers and a bank account where the funds would be lodged.
(3) Convincing honesty, trustworthiness and willingness to abide by the requirements of this proposal, paramount of which is Confidentiality.

Upon receipt of the above, I shall communicate you and let you knoiw the details of the transfer.

Whatever your action and decision, I thank you for taking the time to read this letter.

Best personal regards,

Tamara Briggs

Hmmm..."Tamara heads a four man committee" sounds like a film I'd like to watch.

And surely the phrase "Trust is definitely the most noble trait in the world today" and "Nigeria" is a complete contradiction in terms.

If that email gets sent out to thousands of people you've only got to have one gullable person and they've made money.

At least the story in this one wasn't sad. Normally its the son or daughter emailing because their father has been assassinated or something.

The one I had yesterday was from a similar petrolium department in Nigeria-my god they must be wealthy since they are all dropping off the perch and leaving huge sums locked in banks..............my guy suffered a rather nasty fatal plane crash on an Egypt Air flight in 2001-very sad-as would be anyone who believed all this crap................
