Looks like its going to be half reasonable down here on monday,so threw the bike back into a roadworthy state and shot over to my local bike shop to get an mot,been going there a long time,never ever book,just turn up..not this time matey,he says,all computerised now,have to allow an hour a bike,consequently booked solid,backlog of mot's...

What really wound my man up,is when he worked late a few evenings to push some through and got a snotty email from mot head office,asking why he was doing mot's out of work hours..?!.

So,no mot until next saturday......BUNCH OF ARSE..

But to all of you bods who do get out for bimble over the weekend,have a good one and take it easy...

Just ride it anyway. I've never let a minor thing like an mot or tax disc bother me for the sake of a few days wait.

And before any of you get an arse on, my bikes are perfectly maintained & safe and taxed.

But, you are of course right even riding without a current MOT invalidates your insurance.

Not necessarily so but, do try to grow a skin, eh?

Besides, what about all those small plates and noisy exhaust - hardly legal and therefore questionable from the point of view of insurance cover. Don't be so hasty to judge.

Ian,

You will actually find that that statement is 100% incorrect, if there is an insurance policy in force and a certificate has been issued then the insurance company must by law honour their liability to any third party that can prove a claim. Even if the policyholder has compromised his policy.

They can however refuse to pay out for their policyholders vehicle and can also claim back any costs that they incur settling a thrid party claim from their policyholder.
