Question Wanted - Honda goldwing or similar with rider for 90th Birthday treat

Hi,

I know this is probably not the right place to ask about Goldwings, but, it is my first idea and I hoped someone could halp or advise me.

Basically my Grandma is 90 this year and has always enjoyed bikes and still talks about them in a fond way. She loves to go to Matlock on a Sunday (in the car) and look at the bikes etc.

In her younger days she went everywhere on the back of my Grandads bikes through the war and for many years afterwards. She tells great tales of going out dancing on a Friday night, sitting side saddle on the back of the bike in full evening wear ... and no helmet.

If there are a group of bikes she will always spot the Goldwing and says about how comfy they look etc etc

She has asked if we can get her on the back of a bike for her 90th Birthday. Her Birthday is New Years Eve, but, due to weather and time of year etc we would look to do this mid year when the weather should be fine.

She is active and as sharp as anything.

Basically, is there anyone in the Derby / Midlands area that would be happy to take my Grandma out one afternoon / early evening, probably a run to Matlock for a fish supper or similar. Happy to cover any costs incurred including a bit of cash for yourself.

Alternative, does anyone know where I can hire a Goldwing from ?

I would suggest contacting the GWOCGB and asking. From my experience they will most likely help you out.

Would have been able to help 6 months ago, but sadly (luckily ;0 ) not anymore.

You don't fancy lending her the keys to the Duke for the day then?

AWESOME. Very early days for this idea, but, would work around yourself. We are 15 miles or so from Matlock so should be an ideal distance for a short ride. We basically have the summer to do this.

What kind of wing can you get hold off ??? ideally it would be the one with the rear back rest and arm rests.

not sure which one it is!
But I could make it even more interesting and get a Harley lowrider aniversary model I think and make it even more special for granny!
"BUT" remeber I'm out at the ring a lot so it will have to fit in around that!
