MXGP of Flanders

  • Tough weekend for the Ducati riders in Belgium

The fifteenth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship season, the MXGP of Flanders, took place today on the notoriously demanding Lommel track, a mainstay on the calendar since 1990.

Although today’s weather brought spring-like temperatures and ideal racing conditions after days of rain, the Lommel circuit lived up to its reputation as the toughest tests of the campaign. As the sandy surface dried out over the course of the day, it became increasingly deep and punishing, making riding particularly challenging.

Mattia Guadagnini and Jeremy Seewer, who qualified 19th and 20th, respectively, in Saturday’s race, endured one of their most gruelling outings this crusade, earning few points and little satisfaction. Guadagnini finished 24th overall, retiring from moto two after placing 20th in the opening bout. Seewer then placed 20th overall, with finishes of 21st in race one and 17th in the second. The Swiss rider now sits ninth in the championship standings.

The Aruba.it - Ducati Factory MX Team will be back in action in two weeks at Uddevalla for the MXGP of Sweden, the sixteenth of twenty rounds in the 2025 season, aboard their Desmo450 MX machines.
