Marc Márquez and the Ducati Lenovo Team take a dominant victory in the Sachsenring race. Francesco Bagnaia sixth

The Ducati Lenovo Team enjoyed the perfect weekend at the Sachsenring with Marc Márquez, who won the Grand Prix of Germany after securing pole position and the Sprint victory yesterday. Francesco Bagnaia finished the race in sixth position.

Márquez made an excellent start and dictated the pace from the opening laps. Once his brother Alex was out of contention, Marc managed the lead perfectly and gradually pulled away to secure the victory. Bagnaia gained two positions at the start before battling with Martín for fifth in the closing stages, ultimately unable to edge his opponent.

As the eleventh Grand Prix of the season draws to a close, Marc Márquez is third in the championship standings with 190 points. Francesco Bagnaia is eighth, 47 points behind his teammate. The Ducati Lenovo Team is third in the teams' standings (333 points), while Ducati sits second in the constructors' championship.

The Ducati Lenovo Team will be back in action on Friday, August 7th, for the opening day of the Grand Prix of Great Britain at Silverstone.

Marc Márquez (#93 Ducati Lenovo Team) – 1st
“The goal for the weekend was to attack in order to recover as many points as possible. We managed to do so on a track that suits my riding style very well. I'm happy, but not completely happy: I would have loved to see Alex (Márquez) on the podium given the pace he had. Now it's time for the summer break. I'd like to rest because this first half of the season was very demanding, but at the same time we need to make a step forward with my right arm. Maybe some people have forgotten because the results have been good, but the difference between left- and right-hand corners is huge.”

Francesco Bagnaia (#63 Ducati Lenovo Team) – 6th
“Sixth place is not too bad, given how much we struggled. Unfortunately, the issue is still the same and, at this track, it was especially significant. We'll continue to work and I hope that, during the summer, we can find something that will help me. Having said that, we improved a lot in several areas. We're still missing the most important one, but it's not easy. It's key for us to be able to use the rear-end of the bike without skidding so much. The goal is to be able to win and be consistent in terms of results.”
