Bulega and Lecuona make history at Donington with the World Superbike Championship Teams' title for Aruba.it Racing Ducati and the Manufacturers' crown for Ducati The Prosecco DOC UK Round will be remembered for a long time. On a circuit that has historically been challenging for Ducati, Nicolò Bulega and Iker Lecuona claimed every win of the weekend, completing a fantastic hat-trick that secured a fifth consecutive world title for both Aruba.it Racing – Ducati and Borgo Panigale in their respective categories.
After taking his first Superbike victory on Saturday in Race 1, Lecuona also got off to a strong start in the Superpole Race but crashed on lap 2. Bulega then fought with Montella (Ducati) to claim the top step of the podium.
In Race 2, Bulega led from the first lap to the last. Lecuona delivered a fantastic comeback, charging from tenth to second place.
Stefano Cecconi (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati Team Principal) “I am truly happy for this fifth consecutive Team title, a milestone that is particularly satisfying because, more than anything else, it tells the story of the extraordinary work done by our riders and by every single person in the team, day after day, all together. A heartfelt thank you goes to Ducati, to Claudio Domenicali, Luigi Dall'Igna, Marco Zambenedetti and all the people in Borgo Panigale who work with passion: you gave us exceptional bikes, and with them you allowed us to dream big. My sincerest congratulations for your fifth consecutive Constructors' title, a result that says everything about the incredible level reached by the Panigale V4R.” Marco Zambenedetti (Head of Superbike Project – Ducati) “The Team title and the Constructors' title are a result of great value for Aruba.it Racing – Ducati, for Borgo Panigale and for the entire WorldSBK project. We are very proud of this achievement, because it confirms the strength of the work carried out and the value of a group capable of always competing with great professionalism. This result takes on even greater significance because it comes in a season marked by a new bike, which the team was able to understand, develop, and quickly bring to a very high competitive level. I would like to thank the riders, engineers, technicians, mechanics and all the people who contribute every day to making this project possible. It is a collective success, built on expertise, dedication and team spirit. We celebrate it with satisfaction, aware of the journey we have made and already focused on the next challenges.” Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #11) “It was a great Sunday. I want to thank my team for the step forward we took and for how we feel compared to yesterday. I am proud to have contributed to winning the two titles by such wide margins before the end of the season. Now we go on holiday to get some rest, but the work is not over yet.” Iker Lecuona (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati #7) “What a weekend! I am very happy. We claimed our first Superbike victory, though I admit I made a mistake in the Superpole Race. But it was great to recover so many positions in Race 2 and finish second. I am very happy: I feel part of a great family, and that gives me huge motivation.”
