Talking My Epic Battle with Cleggy

Err... cant really explain, you had to be there, I'd like to hear his take on it, I feel that I should have had him though, I couldn't make any of my passes stick, I tried to take him on the last corner of the last lap, but I think he guessed that was my plan and left a nice welcoming gap which he slammed shut just as I tried to take it! There were a couple of fairly close late breaking up the inside manouvers by myself (a move I learned from him in the previous race) one of which had the Rossi style leg out, the back wheel in the air and the front tyre screeching in protest, Cleggy hung back that time, he didn't want to risk going around the outside of that one! I suspect he thought I was going off, I know I suspected that I might go off! This kind of thing went on for 3 or 4 laps and was absolutely brilliant, all said and done, I don't think either of us had any really close moments and I think at least he looked mostly in control even if I didn't. meanwhile Sam West had cleared off into the distance, never to be seen again......

Stand out moments this week end:

1, Getting Pole on the saturday!

2, Coming Second in the first race on saturday,

3, Running wide and bending my front wheel, only to discover how helpfull people are when you need to borrow things.

4, another front row start on sunday (3rd)

5, Watching a bike slide off, about 6 inches off my front wheel.

6, getting 3rd on sunday

7, and another 3rd,

8, Then finding out I'd won 3 trophys!

9, the 8 hour drive home and start work at 6am monday,

10, Telling my 10 and 12 year old sons, who really wanted to come with me (I'll bring them to Snetterton)

11, and seeing my wife after the first time we've been apart for 17 years.

Good luck to Sam & Dom who seem to be battling for the championship, I hope to be up there with you soon, and harriot who is only 2 points behind,

I am on a super strick diet now, hoping to go faster at Snett!

Matt 72 Lawson.
