Generators at TA4?

Is there an appropriate time in the morning to be starting them up and as good time at night for shutting them down? Its my first time at a trackday with one and i dont want to upset anyone!

Its for setting the valve clearances. You do this by measuring the gap then replacing the existing shim with a new one of the desired thickness to achieve the correct gap. Your bike has 16 of them...

Only trouble is if you have to get changed in public you look like a bit of a girl cos they are very snug. I've only got the bottoms but they are all day comfy in the summer.

Dibs, its more common on 748's than on other bikes, possibly becasue they rev harder. Heads don't need to come off to change them though.
