| Its easy to reset and I have done this when the click wheel started to play up.
Plug the ipod into a power supply and connect to a wall socket. Not the computer. Turn the hold switch to on and back to off. Press and hold down the play and menu buttons together until the apple logo comes up. This should reset without losing your music.
