I can't believe that Bob Geldoff has convinced Roger Waters to go back to Pink Floyd and that David Gilmour has agreed!! They are reforming for Live 8 - we've texted for tickets and won't know until tomorrow night apparently but most people seem to know already.

This would be a once in a lifetime opportunity for me - the chance to see one of my favourite bands of all time who broke up before I was even old enough to go and see a band.

I feel like I've missed out on one of those opportunities and I'm absolutely GUTTED!!

I remember missing out on them the last time (1980 ish) some older lads I knew were going down to London to see them but my dad would not let me travel that far at the age of 14. Something I held a grudge for a long time for! Likewise I could have seen Blondie in Blackburn in 1979 but I needed a new tyre for my bicycle which was the same price as the ticket, always regretted that decision

The Wall was the first double album I ever bought I remember walking to Ames records in the snow the day it was released with my saved up spending money. The sticker that came with the early copies of the record was still stuck to my old bedroom window up to about 5 years ago. eeeh memories

Saw the Floyd live in Hyde Park in 1970? I think. There was a series of free concerts and they were on one of them. They played 'Set the Controls' from Saucerful of Secrets and the sun came out-freaked us all out, mind you we were all stoned at the time........... Also saw the Stones in another concert in the park that summer-happy days.
