Rail congestion charge WTF?

They want to introduce Road pricing, to keep us off the roads in peak times.

Now they dont want us to travel on trains in peak hours.

Shall we just go on the dole and not bother...

Whats next?

I quote "But the Rail Passengers Council said travelling at off-peak times should be made "more attractive"."

So how about making off peak times "cheaper" rather then continually putting the prices up?

B`stards.

No seen the news but, there has always been peak and off peak pricing on the routes into London. I guess the peak rpices are going up even more. it's not like they would reduce the off peak prices :P

Just goes to show how out of touch MPs are.

They wouldn't last a week in the real world; average wage, using public transport, hard days work, etc.

It's 44 miles and takes an hour in the morning but nearly 2 in the evening due to the traffic.

Basically you join the queue at the A13 in the City and then filter all the way through Stratford out to Ilford and onto the A12. There's a short break when you get to Romford as the cars thin out a bit, but then it's back to filtering as you get to the M25 junction, then it's slow moving all the way to Chelmsford.

It's crazy and I really don't like doing it at all. When they replaced large chunks of the old A12 (high street roads) with the new dual carriageway, you'd think it would be fast and safe. However, you pass 13 speed cameras and all the dual carriageway section is 40mph - even though there's 15 feet of banking either side! WTF?!?!

How they think charging more to stop people using peak hour trains is beyond me. It's not like we do it for fun or anything!

****ing idiots, the lot of em.

Doh, i forgot that i was doing it against the flow of traffic when i was going fron limehouse to ipswich. It's amasing what a difference that makes. i did not mind filtering, i think that i got quite good at it . Some days it got bloody cold and the A12 seems to go on forever. I used to think it was the uk's most boring journey, until I rode up to Cadwell (except the last bit)
