I supported the rear using axle stands as in pic,this way you can fit a ride height tool.A piece of masking tape with pencil mark on end can will give a datum point,measure from top of axle nut to datum is as good.From experience Ive found that 99% of the info given on various sites regarding suspension set up is contradictory and some just rubbish,if you just want to increase the ride height fine,but anything more,I reckon consult an EXPERT.
