None of the people that signed up under me ever completed their offers, even though I did!
In fact, I actually made money out of this offer - I signed up for the call from one of the alternative carriers, and my phonebill for calls dropped by half.
The other offer I signed up for was to put a tenner deposit into one of those online gaming sites, and they matched my deposit, so I ended up with 20 quids worth of credit. I played this for a bit, then got really good at one of their games and started playing for cash against others. I ended up winning just over 15 quid, so I got my initial tenner deposit back plus a fiver profit!
So in the end I didn't get my iPod (although there is still hope if those downstream complete their offers) but I'm better off than before
