filming that Hants Police are doing for a television programme series
from tomorrow (26th September) for seven weeks.

If you use the M27 or the M3 this potentially affects you so please
proceed with caution and pass onto anyone who you feel might just need
to know. The program a BBC South commission called "Traffic Cops" will
be filmed covering the area from Ringwood concentrating on Ringwood M27
up to M3 J9 and a team working the ringroad around Southampton (Totton
will have a unit working it alone), Cosham M27 stretch to J5 of the M27
(Southampton Airport turn-off). The fourth concentration is working from
Winchester Services covering M3 to J10 M3 (Winchester South) using five
unmarked cars, two Black Skoda 03 registration Octavias, an 05 plate
dark red Mondeo and two Volvo saloon cars.

The BBC unit are going to be based out of a unit in Millbrook Road in
Southampton and will also be covering the armed police response unit and
the Southampton Airport Police Security / British Transport Police team.

The BBC team are in Citreon Picasso MPVs leased from Arriva.

To make it even more effective the Traffic police have authority from
Chief Constable to "work to rule" So instead of the laid back approach
to the usual Hants traffic police this will be a lot more concentrated
to make it effective filming.

You have been warned
<ends>

Now this has been posted will he become an Ex IT security manager?

For what my opinions worth, if he is anything like our lot he wont have a real scooby about this. I would stick to purchasing expensive out of date kit for us! Then again what do i know about his job?

MMmmmm....

I've seen this on three emails today all worded almost exactly as above. Whilst I thought it sounded OK to start with, it's now begining to sound like a hoax.

Antonye: do you know the author of this note, or was it sent by a friend of a friend?

Rich

No, I don't know the author and was just passing on the information.

As for filming people in my job, if I told you what I did, I'd have to kill you

You're right Andy. Why do any work when I can get paid three times a policeman's salary for sitting on my arse all day?

Anyway, this came in from another forum...

"I saw a marked Volvo on the hard shoulder of the M27 today, police man having a chat with somebody, camera man filming it. No other
car so assume the camera man was waiting in the bushes, or possibly riding along in the police car."

I can assure you it's not a hoax!

And the coppers have been instructed to apply the letter of the law, so best put the mirrors back on!
