| A possible explanation could be that the original was replaced for a carbon one, and removed before selling. Pick one up from ebay for under 50 quid for carbon (sometimes cheaper if you get a bargain) or around 20 quid for a second-hand original.
And no, the 748s don't come with oil coolers as standard unless it was an SP, SPS or R model and sometimes they still didn't come with one! You'll find that Ducati work to what they have in stock so sometimes you get more than you should. They can be retro-fitted very easily, and you can take the parts off the 916/996 engine as they are exactly the same.
