Ducnow,

I phoned Customs and Excise on their helpline number, explained i wanted to brings parts in from Germany and could they clarify the situation.

I checked and double checked that they were aware it was from the EU and that was the info they gave me.

The call was recorded and they asked for my postcode and NI number as a reference, which seemed a bit strange at the time???

Anyway they also followed it up with written confirmation of what we discussed through the post.

If the info is duff i will be well pi55ed as i missed out on a bargain

Scotty, if you wanted to buy it in Germany, then i'm sure you were given the wrong info.

Unless, of course the UK has a special derrogation of the EU directive. But i really don't think so.....
