DD 2006 series

this is aimed at no one in particular but i do think we should just take a step back sometimes and look forward to next years racing rather than picking holes in rules or situations that dont suit us perfectly.

we are lucky to have a huge amount of say over what happens, when and where with our seires. far more than other racers and much of the debate and ideas thrown around on the board have made the sucess it is.
some mistakes will be made and some ideas may be dropped or changed for 2007 but we are all still in a learning process.

i do think we should bear in mind the huge amount of work that is put in by the race comittee to get everything sorted.
they will not please all of the people all of the time but overall the series and format has worked extremely well as borne out by the increased grid/class split.

as i say aimed at no one in particular but lets try and enjoy and look forward to a great series in 2006.

You have no idea how true some of this is.

You're exceptionally fortunate that currently you can make and change and mould the series to suit the needs of the many... This is very much NOT the case with any other series.
Phoenix are pretty good in the fact they ask riders for input at AGM, but once the rules are there, you're stuffed.

There's no droppping rounds or changing because of this and that... or even 'i want to race at XYZ' you get what you get and you either like it or race somewhere else...

You should indeed count your lucky stars.

Oh dear, here we go again.
I've every sympathy with the Race Committee and MT and have taken every opportunity to applaud their stirling work. It's a moot point but I do indeed count my lucky stars that we've been able to have a say (how much of one is debatable) especially when we're forced to go "all the way" to Assen to race in a domestic novice race series. Yes, Steve/Dickie, I see your point on how lucky we truly are As a novelty inter-club relations exercise "Assen" is a brilliant idea, but that's as far as it should have gone. Yes, if I can gather the pennies to make it, I'll go just to get the opportunity to race at Assen, but why make it a points scoring round when you can't fit all the competitors in when you could have had an extra UK round that everyone could attend?

Well dickie , Im fully with you on this one matey, I have been there in the past where rules are rules and thats the end of it, And to be honest im sure the RC are getting that way too. Rules are exactly that, not down to interpretation Etc. These Guys do a top job, The grid proves that. Whatever is decided i will go with purely because i want to go out there to race with likeminded individuals, Simple as that.
Big vote of HURAA for the RC from this corner.
