Hi

I run the 749R also and do believe the wheels make all the difference, although the bikes weight is more than my previous gixer1000 it feels much lighter on the road or track.

If you find a pair at a good price go for it you can always sell them when you change bikes. Just be careful and check the history and signs of damage.
