I think from a safety point of view, having a proper socket is the way to go, I got a small rack of them from Halfords a little while back for £20.

Just something that caught me out first time - dont back the outer clamp bolts off completely or else the bushing will just spin the LH fork leg and the axle will not unscrew...

+++ Keep a CLOSE eye on the speedo drive when putting eveything back together, its easy to either crush the drive or allow it to spin and damage the speedo cable ot get it in the wrong position if the cable aint fitted.
