Mood: 900 went 999 gone, Multi came and went, 749 Nero now
Well. they now have the original ECU.
The mechanic is a guy called Paul BTW. I asked him if it could have been the relay but his tester pointed at some sort of injector fault, which he says points to possible ecu problem.
Guess it will get sorted at some point

All fixed now.
The ignition relay had gone and also the ecu was toast.
They were not sure if the relay cooked the relay or the relay failed and killed the ecu.
They fitted the stock ecu ( the bike had the Termi system ecu) and tweaked that to suit and they reckon the bike now runs fine.
I've only had a quick blast and it feels ok to me.
Fingers crossed.
PS They didn't overcharge either, a couple of hours labour which they said was less than the real time they spent, and the new relay, picked the bike up from home for me( only 4 miles away but still) and charged my £96.
