I bought my 2002 900ss for £2500 in April 2005. It had 4.5k miles on the clock. But there was also evidence that it had suffered a low speed drop - mostly damage to an end can but also some pin holes in the fairing paint which is evidence of a respray.
This one, with only 3k miles and if it is in excellent condition, I'd say go for it at that price.
Just a word of caution, the guy has almost no feedback and doesn't seem to have bought/sold anything bike related before. I'd hate to see you get your fingers burnt. If you win the auction I'd only send £100 deposit by paypal and insist on the rest in cash on collection.
I usually ask for a photo of the item against a current newspaper is poss as it tends to link the buyer with the item.
A couple of people here have kindly offered to check it out for me. Unfortunately the guy selling it didn't get back to me with his contact details until this morning, which was too late.
If it doesn't sell I may still be able to get it if someone can check it out for me. I'm not going to bid on it without it being checked out. Will have to wait and see what happens.
Unfortunately guys I've jumped ship and bought a Honda VFR800.
Just wanted to say thanks for everyone's help and assistance here during my short but enjoyable Ducati ownership. I hope to be back some time in the future.
