Talking

If he is a registered trader , he must by law offer a 28 day warranty.

His responses are too blaise for my liking, he just wants your money mate, then hes off to sting the next mug...im sure most will agree..steer clear.

I bought my 916 from Bernard at Moto uno, yes he is a trader working from his home.
He use to work for Ducati as a sales man but went on his own.
I found him to be a fairly decent guy, but he is still a business man and will do anything to sell a bike.
He can talk the legs of a donkey.
Not sure if I would buy another bike from him as he does gloss over minor problems, my advise is go over everything with a fine tooth comb and never trust a salesman

Of course, this is true of anyone, independant or official dealer!

I'd be more concerned about the backup I would get should something go wrong. We've had a few stories on here of people having issues after buying, so it's not like it doesn't happen.

My main concern would be about the time since the last service - belts can go "dry" if left in the same position and could mould round a tight run. This may lead to it jumping teeth at high revs ... instant engine death!

Unless it's something that you really, really want and can get it at a price where adding in the cost of a full service (~£600) still makes it worth having, I'd walk away.

If you ask for the belts to be changed Bernard will do that for you.
I have also used the guy Moto uno use for pre sales service, he worked for Moto Rapido for some years on the spanners and does know Ducatis well.
I can give you he name and mobile if you think that will help.

I didnt realise that he had a mechanic too, if he has a Ducati trained mechanic why didnt he offer to do the service ???

its a shame this guy seems so dodgy as i really like the look of the bike he has.

Really dont know what to do.

Maybe the mechanic would do the service for me 'out of hours', is he any good then, who is he??
